I've installed a sound blaster Audigy FX card in my win 11 build, and downloaded and installed the latest drivers from the mfg. , Creative. When I put in a music cd and click"...Play with Audigy FX", the sound blaster control panel comes up, but that's it. No song selection or anything associated with the music cd. I have a 5.1 speaker set up and the control panel tests them as ok, as well as the mixer, volume and eq. settings. If I just hit "play" when I open the cd, the music starts with Windows Media. (I believe that's because it's in the settings as a default app, as well as an updated version of Windows Media). If that's the case, I don't know how to make sound blaster Audigy FX my default app for music. Any help is certainly appreciated.

What is the make and model of your ODD? If you're able to hear content off of YouTube or any audio file that's stored on your drive, then the player is what's probably the issue.

If that's the case, I don't know how to make sound blaster Audigy FX my default app for music.
Start>Type Control Panel>Enter>Hardware and Sound>Sound
see what the default audio output device is set to in the new window, under the Playback tab.

I have a 5.1 speaker set up
Make and model of your audio setup and how it's tethered to your platform?

Moved thread from Components section to Home Audio & Theater section.

Its not clear what the problem is. The Audigy Control Panel is not a media player itself. It just controls various volume and equalization settings for whatever is being played by your media player. Its not designed to be a default app for playing CDs. Its sort of a set it and forget it type of volume and equalization control. All it is really is a glorified volume control.

Thanks for the reply AND enlightenment! I finally realized where the problem was...I looked in the mirror.
Everything's fine!
