Sound card/headphone problems

So my friend just bought a pair of Refurbished Audio Technica ATH-M50Xs and Sound Blaster Audigy FX 5.1 sound card. The problem he is having is that when he plugs in his headphones in to all but 1 jack it does not recognize that anything is plugged in, therefore he gets no sound. The jack that does give sound is the L/R jack which does not give Subwoofer nor LR/RR sound, making for very flat audio. His drivers are all updated. Any easy fixes? Or any fixes in general?

the green port is used for speakers and headhphones. when headphones are used on that port using speakers and subs wont work. if his case has front audio ports he should have plugged that cable into the sound card. with that set up he can set up two outputs one for headphones from the front ports and speakers from the rear ports.
