Question Sound crackles then PC freezes for a few seconds ?

Hello,

I have a couple of really random issues,

  1. Occasionally if im watching a video or chatting to people on discord I get a crackling noise via my headset or speakers for a few seconds and then it carrys on as normal.
  2. I have noticed this when playing FTB. The sound crackling issue is still there but i will then freeze for a few seconds and it will carry on as normal after.
This happens a few times over a few hours peroid and I dont know what the issue is, Event viewer shows nothing during these times.

Specifications of PC:

MB: ASUS TUF Gaming Z690-PLUS D4
CPU: I5-12600k
GPU: ASUS ROG STRIX 3070 8G
RAM: TRI Force 32GB 2x16
PSU: Corsair RMx 850W 80 PLus Gold Modular (got red extension cables)

Headset Logitech G PRO
Mic: Wave 3 Microphone (Headset is plugged through using the Wavelink software etc)
Speakers: Logitech G402

Any help will be greatly appriciated!

BIOS version for your motherboard at this moment of time? Make and model of your storage drives? As for your OS, what are you working with? If you're on Windows 10, what version(not edition) of the OS are you on? Your headset is an USB driven peripheral, try and reinstall your chipset drivers and see if that alleviates the issue. How are you cooling that processor and how is it oriented in your build? Make and model of the case?

BIOS Version/Date: American Megatrends Inc. 2103, 30/09/2022
Windows 10 Version: 10.0.19045 Build 19045
Storage Drives: M.2 NVME Corsair MP400 & Samsung SSD 870 QVO 1TB
Headset is currently plugged into the Elgato Wave 1 Microphone which is then plugged via USB it is not using the logitech pro usb adaptor (if that makes sense)
Cooler: NZXT Kraken X53 AIO Pump with the Radiator on the front of the case pulling air in
Case: NZXT H710 Tower Red and Black

Airflow is currently:

2 Fans on the Front Radiator Pulling air through into the case
1 Fan on the rear pushing air out of the case
3 Top mounted fans pulling air into the case

This has only started happening about 2 months ago and got worse recently.

Slight Update -

I noticed SMBusController wasn't recognised so I updated my chipset via the ASUS Website for my Motherboard and installed: 'Intel Chipset Driver V10.1.19199.8340 for Windows 10 64-bit and Windows 11 64-bit'. This has resolved that SMBus Issue as thats not longer an 'Other Device' on Device Manager but dont know if that would also work for the audio freezing issue?

I dont know if thats correct as there was multiple drivers.

Intel GNA V3.0.0.1457 for Windows 10 64-bit and Windows 11 64-bit.
Intel SerialIO driver V30.100.2221.20 For Windows 10/11 64-bit.

I didn't know if I needed to update these as well?

Another thing i've done after a bit of research was disable power throttling in the policy application, would that effect anything?

The mic in itself is a sound card, which is why you have an analog output on it(for a headset). The sound card bundled with the Logitech headset is meant for the headset alone. In your current state, you plugged a sound card into another sound card. Work with each device standalone.

OK So after a few days I left it and it was fine but now it is back again. I did some digging and a latancy test via LatencyMon and I am getting the following with the issue still:
