............... the opening is really intel biased... well at least they are farier (not fair but just fairer) at the end........

What can you expect from a whore ?
THG staff are just a bunch of whores that say and do anything for some quick cash.
Owners are some idiots that paid 30 MILLIONS for shitty site, only idiot pays that sum for a website like THG.
And now they must be whores to get some money back.

What a bunch of brainless whores.

ROFLMAO.

I wouldnt say they are much fairer at the end, they tell gamers to go for the X2 but business' to go for the pentiumD (even though they admitted the AMD was more stable). The reason? Because the business and OEM sectors make up like 90% of their business, intel couldnt care less about the enthusiast market.

We all should read this article.

It's still dishonest.

It's like murder is not ok if it's massmurder (altough military claims that it often is..).

btw. i understand that my example is in a different caliber, but same principle still applies.

- Joseph Goebbels.

it's still a lie.

ps. kind a funny coincidence that THG is german site since Goebbels was german too.. (or is it a coincidence ?)

Thank you.

Can only run 1024 x 768 here and long lines mess up all the other posts on the page for me.

It looks like "Tommy and Friends" are reading the forums and (I think) they hate to see that almost 90% of the members here agree that the X2 4800+ has the overall performance crown even in multitasking scenarios (Please read the 100+ links I posted in the 840 Extreme Edition thread).

Anyhow, I believe it's their way to say "Intel's dual core offering are better no matter if it burned a zillion boards or if it consumes more energy than an X-ray machine." 😉

Shame on you Tommy!

I know. I'm talking about the site in general. 😉

I thought those boards burned out because the guys from THG used the wrong heatsink and overheated all those systems?

The same could be true of the AMD mobos if we put below spec heatsinks on them...especially as hot as those nforce chipsets run already. I haven't heard of any issues with nforce amd chipsets though and it seems like some idiot somewhere would have screwed up and put a insufficient heatsink on at some point...

Did they (intel) have any problems after they replaced the problem equipment (after they burned all that equipment up)? I don't remember there being any problems after that.

Well, they used the right cooler on the first boadr (nf4 sli intek edition).

I think the reason all those boards are due to insufficant cooling of the MOSFETS. Remember, Pentium D consumes a lot of ampere, and if you use boards not specified for that... well, you see what happens... the last board was probably designed for the Extreme Edition, so it turned out pretty stable in the end.

AFAICR the smaller hsf was only used on the last board. All the boards that died were with the stock hsf.
I also thought that kind of weird. They got two hsf units with that mobo. One was the same as the stock unit they had been using. The other was smaller, lighter, had a slower fan, and fewer fins. Which one would you have used?

I laughed at this topic pretty hard after reading an article today that was blatantly AMD biased... Not that there's anything wrong with that since AMD does currently hold both the dual core and single core crowns overall.

Then it all comes down to who cares, you don't agree with the articles why are you here moaning about it? Oh I forgot the internet allows for morons to communicate with each other on a grand scale.
