I wan't asking : I will Install SSD 970 evo in where on Mainbord ?
in slot A or B ?

thank for support :wahoo:

Solution
Hot air rises. If you put the SSD below the GPU in the B slot, then any hot air will rise and be expelled through the top of the case. Your diagram is not accurate either, you will not be bringing in cool air from the back of the case. The open air design of the cooler just uses the available air in the case.

Additionally, there was a time when overheating was a problem with the NVMe SSDs, but those problems have been addressed and you dont need to worry about that with the 970 Evo. Putting it in the A spot would make it a little warmer, but not enough to impact performance or shorten lifespan.

Thank you for this well researched question!

Personally, I would install it in the bottom m.2 port. Slot B.
Less conflict with the GPU.

thank you for help me , but have a trouble , my VGA Card is ASUS 3 fan like image , maybe hot air in VGA make hot SSD ?
and i can install windows 10 64 bit on slot B ?

Thank you 😍 for help me , but my VGA Card is Asus ROG like image , my case very small and with this VGA , hot air can make hot SSD ?
and i can install windows 10 64 bit on slot B ?

Yep. You're totally upside down. Heat rises, it does not go down. So regardless of what type of case you have or how the motherboard is sitting, the heat is going to go AWAY from the NVME drive, not towards it. I think USAFRet and froggy already explained this well enough, but a third opinion never hurts. You will be fine.

Your biggest concern should be whether or not you have plenty of case airflow. If you do not have at least two intake fans and two exhaust fans, with the intakes being located in the front of the case and the exhaust being located in the top and rear, then you should take whatever steps are necessary to get your case cooling arrangement configured in that way. More airflow through the case will ensure that there is plenty of cooler air passing over the PCI drive and helping to keep it cool. Regardless, as mentioned, this isn't a big problem anymore. My 970 EVO sits right below my graphics card and does not have it's own heatsink, and is perfectly fine.

In fact, the fans from the graphics card will probably HELP to keep it cool, by pulling intake air directly over the top of the NVME drive and carrying heat away from it.

thank you for support , i will go B with you . mr.Viper ( USAF ) and Mr.dark solution 😍
