Hello,

So I recently installed a secondary M.2 SSD in my system for some more space.

I ran UserBenchmark just to verify that everything was working correctly and nothing was defective. After the test it looked like everything was running fine.

However, I was reading online that these SSD benchmark tests can be harmful to the SSD.

Would running this benchmark the one time do any damage to the SSD? I don't plan on running it again. Just wanted to make sure everything was working correctly.

I think the worry stems from the fact that benchmarks have to do a bunch of writing, because, you know, how do you benchmark a drive if you can't write something to it. But these tests typically write a small amount into the total TBW rating, to the point where you likely have to run these tens, if not hundreds, of thousands of times to wear out the drive.

Ahhh makes sense. Yeah I wasn't planning on stressing out my drives too much with benchmark tests.

However, I did just want to run it once to make sure that everything was working properly. But I wasn't sure if even running it once would cause some kind of damage to the drives.

Appreciate the response!
