I installed a new SSD in my computer to add extra storage for sounds. After installing the SSD my bios reset and my other SSD that has my OS on it would not boot anymore. I inserted the thumb drive with the OS software on it and tried using CMD to fix boot but the SSD did not have anymore space on it to create a partition for boot. If I install a fresh version of the OS on another SSD then delete some of the files on the old SSD to create space for a CMD boot fix would that allow me to reuse that SSD for the OS? Or will I have to move all of my files from it and scrap it? When I checked the status of the SSD with my OS it was healthy and all of my files were still in place. Looking for any suggestions that will help.

Should have worked.
Did you try disconnecting all other drives and leaving only 250GB drive?
Yes I have. Once I run the command I disconnect the thumb drive and restart. It then goes to the screen about no operating system found which I provided a screen shot of yesterday. Let me ask this question. If I buy windows 10 and install it on the new drive can I remove all my files from the 250 GB drive and use them on the new drive with windows 10? I would delete everything off the 250GB and install windows 10 on it to be the operating afterwards.

Oh, right!
You're doing this with windows 8 installation media.
You have to do it with windows 10 installation media instead
(bcdboot command).

Download from microsoft.
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

And no, if you wanted to reinstall windows on same pc, then there's no need to buy another license.
I was not able to reboot to the old SSD with windows 8. I downloaded the installation media for Windows 10 and when I went to upgrade it would not allow me to do it because it said it was a EFI system and they are only allowed to use GPT disk. I'm not sure if that was the issue of why I was not able to get it to boot in CMD. However, I did purchase another license for Windows 8 a few days ago and used it to install Windows 10 which is now up and running. I am going to move all of my files from the 250 SSD that has Windows 8 on it and put them all on the 1 TB SSD. Once that is done I am going to delete everything off of the 250 GB SSD and install Windows 10 to it then put the files back on it and clear the 1TB SSD to use it for sounds.

One question: Is it possible for me to bring my profile from Windows 8 over to Windows 10 when I move my files or is it tied to the product key that was used for Windows 8 when I bought it?
