Hi,
This is a fast question.
Does ssd make sound?
I have 2 pc, 1 with a samsung ssd and another with a wd blue 500.
The samsung ssd make no noise at all and is pretty fast while the wd make a lot of acute sounds.
It make sounds while I move the mouse, when it read, when it write, almost for everything exept idle.
I runner crystal mark and it make a lot of noise, acute noise, expecially when it do sequencial test, in random write it does not make a lot of noise(also on read but a bit more).
It do acutes sounds at something near 40 db, more then a fan at max speed(the goods one I mean not the one on gpu that are small and make a lot of noise)

it shouldn't, there are no moving parts

it would have to be the controller chip. I would test the drive and see if its okay.

this might have tests for the WD drive - https://support.wdc.com/downloads.aspx?p=279

Are you possible hearing the piezoelectric effect? SSDs can emit a high/medium pitched squeal whine.
Dell acknowledges the sound - https://www.dell.com/support/kbdoc/...y-laptop-makes-a-strange-squeal-buzzing-noise

It can also be due to MLCCs. There's probably other potential reasons as well. Although quieter than HDDs SSDs are definitely not silent.
