Okay so I bought a brand new SSD SATA 120gb but can't seem to get it to configure on the disk management.

The SSD is showing up in the BIOS and got the PC to boot through it.
What I'm wanting to do is reinstall Windows onto my new SSD from my HDD, ive got the tool on a USB to install the new windows 10 software but when I come to do the custom installation it doesn't come up with my SSD only my HDD.

My specs are:
I7 8700
Gigabyte z370 HD3
Gtx 1080
600w evga gold psu
1tb HDD
16gb ddr4 ram

Any ideas on what it could be??

What model SSD is that?
Did you try connecting it to same sata port, where HDD is currently connected?
What windows version are you trying to install?

Can you show any screenshots? BIOS, Disk Management, windows setup (screen, where you have problem locating your ssd)?

What my disk management looks like: (images from google)

Can't get BIOS picture but that's not a problem, the SSD is an integral v series SATA 3 120gb SSD
Thanks

So the SSD shows up in the BIOS disk selection menu but does not appear as an available install drive in the Windows installer ?

What do you mean when you say " got the PC to boot through it. " ?

When you get this sorted, and try to install on the new drive, make sure to disconnect the HDD first and leave the SSD as the sole connected drive during the process.

Right so what I mean is by got the PC is that I set the primary boot as the SSD and secondary as the HDD in the BIOS. The SSD does not show up in disk manager so I cant format it then I can install Windows to it. I've taken out my HDD and plugged the
SSD into that SATA lead. The SSD is running in SATA port 1 and the HDD is running in SATA port 2.
What's weird is that I can view the SSD in the manage storage section on control pannel but can't do anything with it on there.

Have you tried installing windows on the SSD ? So long as the board recognizes the SSD, disconnect the HDD, set the board to UEFI, use a new USB media from the windows download site and install windows. Does the SSD show in the Custom Install section ?

Just tried this and still not showing up In the custom installation, it's just blank (I unplugged the hdd)

So you finaly got to your pc.
Will repeat the questions:

  • What model SSD is that?
Did you try connecting it to same sata port, where HDD is currently connected?
What windows version are you trying to install?

Can you show any screenshots? BIOS, Disk Management, windows setup (screen, where you have problem locating your ssd)?

others have said these settings fixed them, try Fast Boot or not, I like it if it works. Some say disable it, try it enabled and disable the other two.

maybe try disabling CSM, enable FAST BOOT, and disable Secure Boot
