Hello everyone!

My SSD holds block with data in use and not in use. I have not activated the TRIM function.
I know that SSD’s only can write to empty blocks, and therefore have to read the block, copy the block, and then write the whole block + the additional data.

Example with 250 GB SSD:
200 GB data in use
50 GB data not in use

1. Does the SSD prioritize writing data to completely empty blocks (blocks with data not in use)?

2. How can I see, if a block has been re-written because data was added to the block?

3. When data is being written to the SSD, does it find blocks that are near each other, or is just random placements?

4. If data has been deleted / turn unused in January, and then more data deleted in March. Will the new data then be written to the blocks that was freed first, or is it just random?

5. Does this change, whether it is 1 MB og 10 GB of data?

Thanks for reading and replying!

Best regards
