Star Wars Battlefront 2 black screen issue

Every now-and-then when I'm playing Star Wars Battlefront 2 the whole screen suddenly goes completely black for 1-2 seconds. The frequency of these black screens varies anywhere from 1 every couple of minutes to 1 every couple of seconds.

Please help me figure out what is causing this issue, and how to fix it.

Hello QuentinB,
Are your GPU drivers updated? and always post full PC specs especially the PSU make/model, and steps you tried to solve it ,in these kind of issues.

BTW this indicates to a failing PSU but it could be anything else aswell.

Sorry about that. I have this:

Windows vista 32 bit os
Intel core 2 cpu 4400 2.00GHz
Intel 82945G Express Chipset Family (Integrated graphics)
A 250 watt psu I think
4GB DDR2 RAM

Exact computer:HP a6157c

Sorry to say, but your whole RIG needs to be upgraded, save up and you can get a pretty good gaming PC for as low as 400$.

No wonder you are facing this kind of issue, it's some failing hardware which might not be under warranty at the moment.
To the point : Upgrade is strongly recommended.

Yes I realize it sucks, I got it as a gift from my grandma. I will be upgrading soon, but for now could you please help me stop this if there is any way to.

First start with cleaning the case, reapply new thermal paste if you can.

Scan for viruses , disable any antivirus.

Reinstall Windows.

That are some of the steps you can do by yourself and check if there are any changes.
