when i first start my computer, i get the message 'failed to create socket'
with a box below it that says 'ok'. i click on this and it disappears. it
does not seem to affect my computer, but is annoying. any ideas of how to get
rid of it?

Check what is causing this by using these texts: "How to Troubleshoot
By Using the Msconfig Utility in Windows XP"
(http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=310560) and "How to Perform a
Clean Boot in Windows XP" (http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=310353).
