Steam In-Game web browser

Can the ingame web browser download any files I was looking at a website and accidentally clicked to download some screenshots while in game so im worried since I don't know if it downloaded anything

No that's a forum only website related to passive screenshots as a different file. You can only download active Steam game related files through the game portal. That's where they are saved. I would not recommend using it though. It's been broke for years.

What files are you talking about specifically? You can't change or edit your game files being played when the website browser is open.

I mean you cant download anything from the web browser correct? for example lets say you cant download videos or photos or something like that from it?

It's an HTML website you technically can download pics and videos from it (or up to it). Now whether you did it or not inadvertently, you'll have to check where your browser download files are stored. If that's all you are worried about. I thought at first you were talking about executable Steam game folder files. They are not related.

Where would those Steam Web Browser downloads be located in the steam folder I didn't notice anything download tho but Im just double checking

It's a browser. It's independent from the Steam game portal as far as execution. Check the your browser website download file directly. I do remember a fishing scam going on a few years ago through Steam's website where files downloaded from it were loaded with malware. If you don't see any files downloaded in your browser download directory, I'd be a little in tune on what's going on. Some entity tried to access my Steam game account a couple of months ago and Steam locked them out. If Steam sees any unusual activity on your account like logging in from a different IP or failing a password, they'll let you know.

I see so anything downloaded from the STEAM ingame web browser would be downloaded from my pc web browser instead
