I said creationist because I believe there is a very strong correlation between belief that climate change is insignificantly affected by humans and belief that Intelligent Design theory wins over Darwinian Evolution theory.

Creationists are seriously delusional people whose plans apply to fantasy Harry Potter or Lords Of The Rings etcetera type universes and therefore do not apply to the real actual universe we live in, therefore the actions they take based on these plans can range from unproductive to counter-productive. The fact that they vote and select people into power who have these same delusions as them makes them extremely dangerous to themselves and others. They cannot be put into insane asylums because they are extremely numerous and united in their aggression against outsiders to their cult.

What he means by predicting "everything" are things like black holes, and higgs-boson particles, which were predicted before they were confirmed, as was just about everything else in science. You predict it based on current knowledge, then find evidence to prove it.

"1,856 Xeon E5 Sandy Bridge processing cores] I would love to know how many watts of power this baby drinks."

estimated 30,160 watts just for the cpu's assuming they are at full load.

Some of the Xeon E5s go up to 150W (8 cores). That said, if we assume these are 95W (4 cores), that's 176320 watts. Holy shit... Even when idle, that has to really hog power.

[citation][nom]memadmax[/nom]Hawking is a looney toon stuck on pause.I especially love the left wing environmental liberal crap he spews about man made climate change(he prolly invented that term so as to not look stupid)....[/citation]

You're just baiting everyone. You're not even a very good troll.

[citation][nom]killerclick[/nom]Which OS is this thing running?[/citation]

Windows 3.1 LOL

Seriously though, my guess would be some flavor of Linux or Unix.

DiRAC?! Oh come on Brits, I thought only Americans pick such acronyms and then try to find meaning that fits it.

Kudos to kids that know who Dirac was.

Crytech needs to go back and rewrite Crysis so that the code can be run on Linux, and be broken up and distributed across different architectures. That way, when someone asks "but can it run Crysis" we can all say "yes, asshole. Now shut up and sit back dow!"

" Supercomputers like COSMOS are necessary to "describe how something as big and complex as the Universe evolves, let alone why humans behave the way they do!”

"let alone why humans behave the way they do!”

Science is scratching the surface of the human brain behavior, that is for all scientists today working and/or researching on how are we aware, conscious, we think, behave, react, feel, imagine and how it all comes together to produce just one human being.

Now, if he just had said "How the DNA chain could evolve in just 600 million years..."

I am not sure, but maybe I have the wrong perception some brilliant scientists really think they are so close to understand everything there is to understand for the rest of the time and space in the universe, and that is expected to be around in 7-10 billion years.

BUT! can this Super Computer explain why the M$ windows operating system will not allow me to configure into a RAID drive a few cheep thumb drives, so that I can get 20 MBs writes?

You're a mental midget. A tiny one, aren't you.

You sound like one of those people who lives in a village in the middle of no where where they light torches and hunt werewolves at night, hang garlic to fend off evil spirits, and marry cousins...

And occasionally engages religious wars, with disastrous results.

Damm TH titles, I though it was on his wheel chair,LOL.

Honestly, TH needs to proofread the "news" titles and content. Sensationalism only works in the long term for gossip magazines.

I love it when people disagree with something and don't know how to prove them wrong, they just insult them.

Well I disagree with Stephen Hawkins on a bucket load of things, He is a brilliant man. And I hope someday with all his wits he will see the light.
