He looks like the guy from an episode of Star Trek Voyager who stole a time ship to get technology and bring it back to his corporation so he could be the industry leader in technical advances...Spooky!

[citation][nom]Hellbound[/nom]I may not like Apple, its products, or Steve Jobs. But he is a person and I wish for him a speedy recovery.[/citation]

I can agree, but take a look at him 10/15 years ago, even with factoring age into the picture, he looks pretty bad here, like really bad, like cancer bad.

[citation][nom]rambo117[/nom]Wow, I love how Tom's deletes comments it doesn't like. Seems its time to find a new techie site.[/citation]
Who's comment is that? They've always had the power to do that, but they don't do it often unless it's been reported by a user and found to actually be justified.

It's always a good day when a miserly person die.
Unfortunatly, miserly people are rich a lot.
So they have a lot of money to buy all what they exist.
They can even buy organs on black market...

Steve has pushed the company in a direction that is both good and bad. I wonder if it is Steve that is responsible for the bad attitude that the company has, that transfers to its fans.

Without Steve, the company might gravitate more towards the mainstream, and probably double their computer market share in the process. I've thought recently though that they should get out of the personal computer business completely and focus on phones, tablets and personal entertainment devices. Seems like that's where the big money is. There are only a certain number of people that will ever buy an Apple computer, but invent a new product like the iPad and sell millions, then invent another new product that we don't know about yet and sell millions of them too.

I guess the old cliche "An Apple a day keeps the doctor away" isn't true in this case.

As much as I loath (secretly jealous of) Steve Jobs, I wish him the best - no one deserves to suffer from cancer.

I dislike Apple products and am seriously annoyed by their "park the brain at the door" fanbase but this is quite sad. What really astounds me is all the talk that the company will not survive his eventual demise. This cult of personality has no place in the computer biz.

[citation][nom]dalta centauri[/nom]It's already been stated that Foxconn makes a number of 'pieces' for that custom built. Unless it's "Anti-Foxconn Certified" it could still be apart of Foxconn's personal touch.Which is fair in it's own right, they produce cheap hardware for decent quality. Not amazing, but most Companies would want what gets them the more money then the year before.[/citation]

Its extremely rare and often impossible for a company to make every single component for their products. I know foxconn does sockets for a number of motherboards. I keep seeing them on the pin protectors for Intel sockets on Asus motherboards.

@Milleman:
Apple didn't pioneer the smartphone or tablet. They merely succeeded in bringing them to the mainstream. Back when I used to do tech work (before all the iProducts even existed,) almost all my clients had smartphones sync'ing with their servers, and tablets were huge with medical clients.

[citation][nom]xantek24[/nom]i see my comments has been deleted.....what? are we in Cuba now?[/citation]
what was your comment about xantek24 ?

Matt Frewer, AKA Max Headroom.

may hate the company, but u have to admit, he changed the face of apple in as short as five years, and threw them at the top

he's pushing the industry forward, without him we wud not have a lot of the competition we have today

Maybe Job's does have cancer of some sort. Maybe its iCancer. Maybe he took the whole eat an apple a day scenario to seriously. Now they have to remove plastic and metal fragments from his rectum.
