I am unable to get my Dell AIO desktop to show the desktop screen when coming out of sleep mode. I've checked all settings and made changes to turn off all security. I am using a local account and do not have a password set up on this pc.
I have to hit enter on the keyboard 3 times to get into windows. First enter strike wakes up the pc. 2nd enter strike gets past the wallpaper screen. 3rd enter strike is logging into windows even though I shouldn't need to. This was an issue on windows 10 and continues with windows 11.

Solution
And I will add the suggestion that you take look at the current configuration settings:

"WIN" + "I" > System > Power & sleep

Include "Additional power settings" and "Change advanced power settings".

You can also use the path Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Power Options.

= = = =

And you can use the Command Prompt (as admin) to look for power schemes.

At the command prompt (as admin) run "powercfg /L" (without quotes)

The results should be similar to the following:

C:\WINDOWS\system32>powercfg /L

Existing Power Schemes (* Active)

Power Scheme GUID: 381b4222-f694-41f0-9685-ff5bb260df2e (Balanced)
Power Scheme GUID: 49ef8fc0-bb7f-488e-b6a0-f1fc77ec649b (Dell)

Could be some leftover/forgotten configuration settings.

Solution
Just making sure about some things...

Under accounts and sign-in options:

Have you turned off windows hello (only allowed windows hello... somthing)?

Have you set this to never: "if you're away, when should windows require you to sign in?"

Finally, if you run user accounts. I have no idea where it's at in win 11 so just hit windows key+r and type netplwiz
- is it checked off at "users must enter a username and password to use this computer"?
