So I got paranoid after my computer froze for a while and ran system restore to hopefully fix the issue.

Turns out it was nothing and running the system restore just threw me in a world of pain. My Firefox somehow broke (possibly because of superantispyware false positives) and I ran another System Restore to try to fix it. (I don't know how that would work either.)

Then I noticed it, IFRToolLog, a text document in my C:. I did a Google search on it and found very little, what I did find were warnings that it will keep growing and a single user question on Microsoft's site, it only had a single reply, which was a Microsoft employe giving a fully nonsensical response.

I'm hoping someone here will know what it is and how to remove it (if I should even remove it).

It just randomly showed up in my C: after my 2nd Windows Restore.

Only one page, "successfull" is misspelled for some reason.

Connect to Server CreateFile() successful.
svc_write_buffer->InBufferSize ==> 12
svc_write_buffer->SvcCommand ==> 0
Sent message to server successful.
Read was successfull

Also, it actually says it was created and last modified on the 12th ‎March ‎2015, yet it was placed in my C: after that 2nd System Restore.

Hmm, no. His file appeared when he installed the driver, and I think it kept growing because it kept getting that error message.

From what I've gathered, it shows up when something goes wrong with that Intel tool. But that doesn't explain why it would suddenly appear after my System Restore, and I would like to know what those commands in it actually mean.

I have the same problem! Same file with the same text!! I didn´t restore my system but I start to having problems with my touchpad (the cursor didn´t move), I had to uninstall the Synaptics driver (I even installed it again, but the problem persist) and now I notice this text file and 3 restore points with this description: "Intel (R) Technology Access", and the dates of all match with my touchpad problem. I read somewhere that this problem with the Synaptics driver is from a bug of Windows 8.1.

I told all this to a Microsoft Technician and he told me I have to install the updates of my Windows 8.1 (I never do that!🙁).

I hope this could be somehow helpful. Sorry if my english isn´t good.
