Hi
Hope you all are doing good actually my psu is making somewhat of strange noise I can't determine what the cause and why it's happening ....it's certainly not coil whine or fan noise as psu fan requires at least of 40% load to start ........

I am attaching a video of the psu here kindly help me if you know the cause and is it safe to use it now?.....kindly refer to time frame of 00:20 sec to 00:32 sec and the exact sound time frame is 00:29sec

pc specs
Ryzen 5 7600x
Asus tuf 650 mobo
Adata 5200mhz ram *2
Deepcool Gammax AIO
Deepcool Dqm V3l 850watt PSU

Thank you

Are you 100% certain that noise is coming from the PSU? OFTEN noises can SEEM like they are coming from one area when they are actually coming from another. That noise does not sound like anything you'd expect to hear coming from a PSU and sounds to me more like what you might sometimes hear coming from an AIO pump that has problems.

IF in fact it IS coming from the PSU, you should stop using it and contact Deepcool immediately regarding a warranty replacement. It's definitely not coil whine and if the fan is not running then there is really nothing other than the initial relay click when you power on or off that should be audible. There are however power supplies out there with platforms that can click periodically when going from LLC resonant mode to burst mode to improve efficiency, but I do not believe your model is one of those units. Hard to say for sure though because the V3L version seems to be limited to your region mostly and while there are in depth reviews of the V2L version there do not seem to be any of the V3L so it's impossible for us to guess at what platform it is using since the Gamer Storm units have changed each generation and use multiple different platforms.

No matter what the noise is, if it is coming from the PSU and is not a burst mode platform and the fan is not running, it should not be doing it and Gigabyte has had a number of models with very serious problems in the recent past. I would contact Gigabyte about an RMA immediately.

I Am Sure that it's coming from psu but i could not look for the origin of the problem .... The fans are off as there is not graphics card currently used in the rig and also to the most extent the maximum power supply wattage used would be around 200-250 watt as of now ..... Though there is no sign of any bad smell like burning or something but its a concern .... Thanks for your help
