Question Street Address Mapping Software

Our church would like to map the addresses of our members so we can (hopefully) help our members find each other. As one example, if someone needs a ride to our services, we can enter the member's address and see who lives nearby. Another example would be when we provide a special service (meals, visitation, etc.) and want to create a route.
I know one can use Google MyMaps, Excel 3D Maps, and others but we'd need to locate all 900 X-Y / Lon-Lat coordinate sets manually. Is there any software, preferably open source and free/inexpensive, that would allow us to upload out address database and the create such a searchable map?

Why NOT Excel 3D?

Import your address book into Excel (or read it from whatever external source).
Configure it properly, and the Excel thing should spit out a map.
