Hey there! i'm currently torn between the i7 8700 (not the K version) and the ryzen 2700x (or non x), i will be going with either a 1070ti or 1080 to pair with it.

I will be using this PC for Streaming and Gaming (Fortnite, Battlefield, call of duty, battlefront and more upcoming games), Photoshop (thumbnails, making graphics such as twitch overlays, banners etc) and Premiere Pro editing.

any help will be appreciated 😀

Since you will be streaming and editing i would suggest going with the 2700x. Sure the i7 8700 will get a few more fps out when gaming but in your case it is better to get with Ryzen on this one since you will be doing editing/streaming as well.

Given your plans for the build, I'd also suggest the 2700x for your intended usage, since OCing is out at least on Intel side. I can vouch for both being great choices, as I have both in use. My 2700X build is for HTPC, light TV gaming, encoding, ect.

On a side note, the stock cooler on i7 8700 is terrible. It throttles from heavy load based on reviews, which is unacceptable for a non-OC processor. If you want to go that route, I'd buy an aftermarket cooler to the proper performance.

The AMD 2700 has the same clock speed but way more threads and cores meaning its better for Workstations, the 2700x though has more threads, cores and a clock speed higher by 500Mhz, which means that it is even more of a Workstation beast.

Both can handle gaming really well, but if you were to overclock the Ryzen 2700x, then you have more than enough for Streaming, Gaming, Photoshop and Premiere Pro editing.

If you have enogh money for a Radeon RX VEGA 64 LCE, to get that AMD combo and, because it is also good gaming hardware, but a little more workstation focused.
