Stuck on Windows logo at startup

My computer has been getting stuck at the Windows logo on startup. It shows the logo but not the circular loading icon that is usually under the logo and it just sits on that screen until I manually shut the PC off. It usually works after I shut it off and turn it back on, though. It's not until I shut down again later and go to turn it back on that it does this.

Any ideas?

Is this a new install of windows? Are all of your windows updates installed? These are things that can cause the boot sequence to hang on the windows logo. What version of windows? Do you have stable internet?

I have no idea windows is failing to boot for some reason. Do you have the cd for your windows version? If so put it in and choose repair when prompted then choose startup repair and go through the process. If you dont have the windows disc you can make a startup reapir disc in the link below.

Windows 10?

Turn off "Fast Boot". I have a laptop with a graphics driver that's not officially supported by W10, and I think that's what causes it to stall.
