Hi I own a pair of JBL 305LSR's and one of then has suddenly stopped working. It worked the other day with quite a long time out of use (1 year). I checked the fuse inside the speaker after taking the back plate off and swapped it with the working fuse on the speaker that was okay and it still doesnt turn on. Any ideas what this could be? I've tried the obvious checking the power leads and checking for any loose wires but they're both wired the same. 🤔 would appreciate some ideas as I'm clueless.

Does the following link show your speakers?

Setup Guide?

To what and how are your speakers connected?

Have you tried swapping the speakers to determine if the problem follows the speaker or stays with the connection (Left, Right)?

Have you tried other known working audio cables between speaker and source?

Thanks for the response. They're the correct speakers yeah. They're connected with the usual 3 pin plug. One of them works and the other one does not. I have swapped the power cables round and it still doesn't work, so can't be a cable issue. I'm thinking have any of the components inside potentially fried? The LED on the front doesnt turn on so does seems to be a power issue.

Any warranty left?

Go back inside the failed speaker (completely unplugged of course) and use a bright flashlight to carefully inspect all that you can.

Look for signs of damage: brown or blackened components, shriveled/melted looking wires, swollen capacitors, etc..

Use a magnifying glass - may reveal some tiny sign of damage or a problem of some sort.

If you are comfortable doing so remove any PCBs so you can inspect both sides.

Even sniff about some. May lead you to a burned/failed component.
