Hello

Today I have had an absolute nightmare with my new build PC and had to format, it has literally wiped everything, I am in the process of trying to get stuff back up and running and updating everything but the chipset won't have it.

I have an ASUS ROG STRIX Z790-A GAMING WIFI II
The link I am using to go to the downloads for my board is https://rog.asus.com/uk/motherboards/rog-strix/rog-strix-z790-a-gaming-wifi-ii/helpdesk_download/

It states this is available
Version 2.2.10001.3
16.72 MB - 2024/09/24

When I download it and extract it to a folder, run the ASUSSetup it runs a short cmd prompt style screen for a few seconds then closes, nothing else happens, I tried running as administrator too.

All my PCI Devices and SM Bus Controller are showing yellow warning signs (!)

Please if anyone can help I am not the most computer and I am struggling big time with this.

Cheers,

Fletch

Hi

Snappy appeared to install a load of drivers that weren't necessary..

I am back to the stage of no drivers for my PCI Devices, when I use Intel Driver & Support Assistant all it finds is 2 drivers, WiFi and Bluetooth

Any ideas?

Cheers,

Fletch

If you click the See All Downloads option for the Chipset section you should see the next file is the Intel Serial IO V30.100.2417.30 for Windows 10 64-bit and Windows 11 64-bit. This is usually necessary for the other motherboard devices; I have always used it for my Strix Z790-E motherboard.

Thank you

On my motherboards site under chipset (see all downloads), do I need any of these other things? Like Intel DTT / GNA / ME etc

I'm left with 4 (3x PCI Device and 1x Unknown Device)

Which section in the Device Manager are they listed in? I can't remember very well but I may have loaded the Rapid Storage Technology Driver at some point in the past; it depends on how your bios is set since the newer bios's default to rapid storage enabled even though its not needed if you're not using raid. I also have GNA and Armoury Crate turned off in bios so I don't need those.

Hi

I managed to sort it,

Basically I had to do the ME and Serial IO drivers too for the chipset, this left me with 1 Unknown fault which after doing windows update it found a USB-C driver which fixed it so finally all clear

Thanks to both for your help with this
