Sub $800 Mild Gaming System

You have some very good choices and a few that arent so good .

Your processor is a phenom 1 . These are not good chips . Ok for most uses but for that money you can do better . A triple core Phenom 2 is much more powerful
Your hard drive is quite slow . Its design is a few years old now .
The power supply is too budget a brand to be good at supply smooth consistent power .

MB , case, monitor , ram ,dvd are good $347

CPU AMD Phenom II X3 720 2.8GHz $139

power supply CORSAIR CMPSU-450VX 450W $60

hard drive Western Digital Caviar SE16 WD3200AAKS 320GB 7200 RPM $55

So far thats $601 . Its a fair bit faster than your original build both at loading programs and running games .
I would spend a bit more on a 4850 gfx card rather than the 4830 , but the 4830 will also be fine . I think the difference is $10 or so .

Have a look at frostytech
http://www.frostytech.com/
and see what they say about cpu coolers .

You can also download the next version of windows for free . It expires in march next year and you have to reinstall but for a new build it can be a good choice . Only download direct from microsoft .

Thank you very much for the response, I changed the hd and power supply, and added the phenom II x3 710 since neither did newegg or tigerdirect had them. I might wait a week or so to see if the have the 720s available.
