it's been around 1 or 2 weeks by now, i suddenly started having low performance in games, Rainbow six siege is the best example, i used to play around 130+ FPS, but suddenly i went to 45-60 FPS, forcing me to play windowed to be able to play; reinstalling geforce experience and the driver improved the performance, R6 was running 80 FPS but not stable, I tried setting to prefer max performance, didn't work too, reducing graphics didn't help too; I believe it's the graphics card because i noticed the GPU is being a lot less used on fullscreen, the temps seem to be normal.

my setup:
windows 10 pro
cpu: i7 6700k
gpu: ASUS GTX 1080 ti
Motherboard: ASUS Z170-A
the setup is pretty new, got it this year

i tried:
reinstalling geforce experience and the driver
setting power management to max performance
reducing graphics quality in the games

thanks

Did you fully uninstall the display drivers using DDU? So not you can use this link: http://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html for downloading a tool to uninstall your display drivers. Go ahead and download your drivers from NVIDEA MANUALLY and run the tool in SAFE mode windows. If you don't know how to run windows in safe mode you can go ahead and follow this article: https://www.howtogeek.com/107511/how-to-boot-into-safe-mode-on-windows-8-the-easy-way/

i'm not sure if it will make a difference, but i will try it anyway, another thing, I turned on my computer, around an hour later I launched GTA, it was 45 FPS inside the hangar(where I spawn), I restarted the PC and launched GTA again, now 130+ FPS. Does this mean anything?

now I see GPU temp reaches 83º C is it high?

First of all 83C seems on the higher side, but this shouldn't be a problem for your gpu at all. A software should be delivered with the product, If you can't find it, you can just download MSI afterburner and put up the fan speed. Also you should go ahead and launch a game while msi afterburner is opened in the background, after playinjg for a little while open msi afterburner and check the monitor tab. You should make some screenshots and send them. Do this for the moment you launch the game after like an hour and after the moment you restarted the pc. It might have something to do with pagefile, so go ahead and check if your ram is sufficient. here is a link to msi afterburner:

are you sure no other processes are running that are consuming GPU resources? I recently did some troubleshooting with something similar where the guy was trying to game while a stealth miner was running on his GPU.

Without the game running look in GPU Z and see if the card is running at normal 2D idle speeds. If it's not idling then something is running.

Fire up the game without the browser running and make sure the discord screen is minimized to the hidden icon area and see if that makes a difference as well.

ok i restarted the PC and opened the afterburner

this temp looks high

and it reaches 61 after some minutes

Something is running on your graphics card and forcing it into 3D mode before you even launch your game if I understand what's happening here. So if your game is in contention with with some other application for your video card, of course it's going to be slow.

Install and run the free version of Malware bytes, check for Malware. Also, CLOSE all unnecessary applications one at a time while looking at that MSI screen until the GPU drops into 2D idle mode so you can see if it's one of your apps. I've seen this happen with Discord chats, facebook and a few other things even glitchy versions of custom mouse software.

how do i know it went to 2D idle? and can you send me a link to Malware bytes? thanks

I closed basically anything I found open and it didn't drop, I have one monitor, 1920x1080 60hz
planning to buy a 144hz

ok I played battlefront 2 and Fortnite most of the day, i forgot to take screenshots of the afterburner, but when I went for GTA V, it went back to low FPS, I can't say if it started of Fortnite because it is not a hard game to run and it changed a lot since i played, but still this is how afterburner was looking:

restarted the PC and it came back to normal FPS and i haven't seem must difference in the afterburner
here is a screenshot some minutes in game

I have no idea of what to do with this information
