My usb storage device was prematurely shut down, not my laptop does not recognize it. Tried it on another computer, same results. Help!

My usb storage device was prematurely shut down, not my laptop does not recognize it. Tried it on another computer, same results. Help!

Either the drive died, or the card inside the enclosure died, or the cable needs replaced.
