Hello everyone, i was just wondering what graphics card i could upgrade to as i am new to this and i wish to play games such as battlefield 4 on ultra smoothly etc high end games if thats possible, this is my current build.

Operating system: Windows 8.1 64-bit
Processor: AMD FX - 4300 Quad core processor 3.8Ghz
Memory: 9GB
Graphics card: AMD Radeon HD 6670
Display: 1920 x 1080

Thank you in advance and if you need any more information please ask.

Your CPU will most likely bottleneck any high-end GPU. Anyhow, what's your current budget? Push it to the max so I'd know what to pick.

It all depends on your budget but from the top of my head i will say that these are the best value for money and they will allow u to play next gen games in ultra settings;

You should be able to get 60+ FPS.
I have the MSI GTX 760 and i get around 90+ FPS
My only concern is your power supply because if it isn't enough then u wont be able to use the GPU to it fullest and it might even crash. I would recommend a 700-750W power supply.

No way, 90+ fps on BF4 ultra with gtx 760? Don't be rediculous. I'm not sure what your cpu amounts to as I have little experience with AMD, but if it's on par with say lates i7 (which I`m guessing its not), its not even enough with gtx 770 to run bf4 smoothly at ultra.

i get 60+ fps for bf4
here is my system: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/user/Thirusan/saved/Fgvbt6

Ok, so you get 60+fps but that is max right? Like the max you get with not alot of shit happening? What about average and minimum fps? Because I'm running an i7 4790k, 8gb 1600mhz kingston hyperx, samsung evo 840 ssd, maximus hero vii + tested both gtx 770 and r9 290 and neither of those cards were able to pull BF4 stable at 60fps. Both cards dipped down to 40s in most maps, and in certain situations. Ultra settings (which is what we are discussing right?). So, in my account, saying that a gtx 760 would run BF4 (ultra settings smoothly - which is what he is asking for) just ain't true. In fact, its far from true.

Okay the lowest fps i ever got was 36 on average i get around 60 and max fps around 85.

lol, i am cracking up that u cant get a stable 60fps with that bad ass system and i can.
U made my day man!!!

oh and i do run on ultra settings.

So to conclude: Neither of our systems (and neither gtx 760 or gtx 770 nor r9 290) can run bf4 smoothly on ultra.

i dont know what u mean by smooth but it works like a charm for me, yes the fps does drop in certain maps but u i don't ever feel like my game is lagging or unstable at any point of my game play. For me that's smooth.

Ok, I can respect a difference in opinion! To me smooth gameplay means no lag at all which translates to 60 fps at all times on a 60hz monitor. Everytime my game runs at lower than 60fps its laggy to me, 45fps obviously being more of an annoyance than 55fps, but still, any drop below 60 means visible stuttering in my opinion. So I just wanted to share my opinion, because I too was reading alot of forums and benchmarks before buying this system, thinking that I could play Bf4 or even Bf3 "smoothly". Which I can't, in my opinion 🙁 So I just wanted to save our friend the same disappointment I got.

Btw Markus, for an in debt look at this exact issue you can check out my post:

Ur system is very cool man, i appreciate that ur looking out for a friend.
What other game u play and what kind of temps and fps do u get in general.

Min FPS is around 69
Average FPS is around 95
Max FPS is around 125

Hello! I have the 4300 and a 7770, and I am upgrading to a r9 280x/285. My 4300 is cooled by a tx3, but because of my 760g motherboard, overclocking is pretty crappy. I run bf3 right now (2gb 7770) at medium/high at 70ish fps at 1680x1050, but I am first getting a 24" 1080p ips monitor, and then the 280/285.

Don't get the gtx 760. The gtx 760 compares to a r9 270x while the slightly cheaper r9 280 trades blows with a gtx 770.

Here, look at these:http://www.amazon.com/Asus-R9280-DC2T-3GD5-ASUS-Graphics-Cards/dp/B00IXI5AT2/ref=sr_1_2?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1409427672&sr=1-2&keywords=r9+280

Really nice card.

Don't spend 600 euros. Dude, that is insane! If you do, though, get a nice 970 motherboard, an r9 280x and a 8320 with a nice cooler.

GET A HIGH END POWER SUPPLY! If you have spare money go for a coolermaster v650 (I have the 750) and maybe an ssd or something. You have alot of money, and if you do more than just gaming, then buy an ssd and what not.

Maybe get a new cpu/mobo/gpu and a nice audio system?

He's definitely right. If you can spend 600 Euros, you can upgrade your PC majorly and turn it into something that can run everything on the highest settings. Let me know if you're up for it and tell me what parts you need and I'll find them for you. I suggest you upgrade your CPU, GPU, and mobo though, as he mentioned.

That will not max all games. Not by a long shot. There are plenty of games the 280x can't even max at 1080p, let alone the 280. This is more realistically a high settings with a few things turned to max rig.

Also, get low profile RAM of course with an air cooler.

An XFX550 will be the same quality, but cost much less.

Yeah, if op doesn't mind he could even save some by formatting and moving over the physical hard drive. The 8320 and a good cooler with that 970 motherboard should overclock a good amount if he is interested. This is the 290 I would recommend:

Sapphire tri-x r9 290:http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sapphire-TRI-X-Graphics-Card-PCI-E/dp/B00HFA44YQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1409706151&sr=8-1&keywords=r9+290

Great over-clocker, and while not as quiet as an asus dcu2, is 42 euros cheaper.
