Question Super micro X8SAX bios update issue.

I have an old bit of equipment that used a few pcs from a days gone bye. I've tried to update the bios as it's having a constant issue powering on and come up with check sum error when it does boot. I've replaced bios battery etc and still no improvement. I've tried to update bios but I'm using windows xp 64 and every time I use the provided software i keep getting not compatible with 64bit operating system. So I need to refresh the bios to see if it rectifies the checksum issue.

Can anyone shed light on this for me many thanks

? But it's the software from super micro site. I've updated many bios before without issue. Is this a cryptic clue or something ? Oh do you mean the ctrl+Home at start up. As there is an issue with boot up it's almost impossible to get the to work.

Update managed to get the motherboard board to beep after holding Ctrl and home. It's a rhythm. 2 close beeps then a gap and 4-5 close beeps and some times a random single beep after the 5th with a pause.

If update program says, it is not compatible with 64bit OS, then DO NOT USE 64bit OS.
Update from 32bit OS.
