I heard that they were having supply issues with the octa for the S3, and are declaring that eight cores are not required in a mobile device to save face.
So it could be possible they're just using two SoCs now, though that would be suicide from a power/efficiency point of view and probably be too complicated.

Launches today in India. It has Lexington in it. Should have put in Clover Trail or at least Medfield (Lexington is lower clocked)...Xolo X900 ran very smooth with Medfield but the Fonepad has a much higher resolution...
