hi all, I recently installed a new motherboard, but that did not work out. so i switched back to my old motherboard and now my computer shows a blank screen. the computer is an hp p7 1245 and the bluelight is now orange. all the fans inside the computer are running, but the screen is black and the blue light on the computer front is now orange.

I was planning on bringing my computer to canadacomputers since i live in canada, but will they snoop through my infornation and/or purposely lie/damage to charge me even more? the intial diagnostic fee is $40.

thank you!

I can say that the Canada Computers, Hamilton Mountain location has excellent techs that will want nothing to do with info on your hard drive. They also do quite a good deal of service, so unlike some other stores in Hamilton ($ummit Direct) they have no need to "generate" more business by lying or sabotaging equipment. I have Zero faith in the techs at the Dundurn location and because of that I can't recommend any location other than on the mountain. I've heard bad things about the service specifically at the London and Toronto college st. locations (all 3!)
But before you pay for service, be patient! The motherboard experts (you should have posted this in the motherboard forum BTW) here are fantastic and can probably help you sort out what's happened on your own.

sorry, I'm should've put this in the motherboards section. and the closet canadacomputers is the one at college and spadina location.
should I go there tomorrow or wait till I get more info from here?

well, here's the rundown (it's pretty embarassing)
I have a prebuilt p7-1245. I decided to take advantage of black friday and purchase 2 upgrades, psu and gfx card.
the psu installed perfectly with no problems. but when the graphics card came in, it came me this screen: http://i.imgur.com/jBEXovp.jpg
so after doing some research, a few other people also had this problem,t and one of people fixed this issue by using a new motherboard. so my friend suggested I get a new motherboard. I got the asus h61m for lg1155 and that did not work either. So we swaped back to my original motherboard, and here i am today. Computer wont even turn on. *crying* also, the blue light on the p7-1245 turned orange. I couldnt find any information about an orange light... I can provide pictures inside my case tomorrow. I am in no rush to go to canadacomputers, but I'd love to have my pc fixed before thursday

I'm really scared to bring in my computer for repairs because I have read and seen videos of big box companies like Bestbuy sabotage/lie to their customers and it sickens me. If I cant get help here I'll have no choice but to pray and not fall victim !

Get more info, Get more info!!!
But since you didn't do this yourself it might be kind of hard to diagnose.

oh, that picture was when i had my old motherboard installed. I replaced it with a new one, and it didnt work out. I now went bacck to my old motherboard and now the light is orange and black screen

You can try and nudge them back into place. You'll know you get it when the computer boots. Don't bother with paste/TIM each time, just drop CPU in and place heatsink on it. You'll know you got it when it works. When it does, shut down and do it right. I'd also NEVER remove CPU again until you get a new board.

So judging from the current conditions of my computer, it is 100% confirmed that the problem is because of bent motherboard pins any nothing else? I'll try to bend the pin back in place when I have time. If I do fail to align the pins back, should I just get a brand new motherboard?
