Hello people of the forums. I have a question.

Currently I am using a Phenom X4 3.7GHZ CPU and I hear Intel is better for the money and I am wanting to know if a switch from AMD to intel would make any performance difference ( such as playing games) and if its worth the money.

Thank You. :hello:

yeah they are alot better but if your compu does everything u need it to do now leave it and upgrade to intel when it no longer does the job

the cost of moving over to intel for a cpu and motherboard would be approx. $350 depending if all your other hardware is of use.

most likely not cost effective for any performance increase, depending on the application.

if you can sell your old parts the 350 bucks itll cost you for new parts, wont be 350 =]

yes, you would see a performance increase. even if your amd cpu is doing the job of counter balancing your gpu you will still see a fps increase. the new intel arcitecture is just that much more efficient.

your 980 is fine, they oc to 4.2 easily(just by using the multiplyer),and mine ran 2 6950 dirt 3's(unlocked and at 6970 speeds(crossfire) N0 bottleneck.Played BF3 multiplayer on ultra, both gpu's were at 100%.If you want an upgrade, upgrade the GPU.That in its self will get you the best bang for your buck.

Your USB 2.0 devices will work just fine in a USB 3.0 port it is fully backwards compatible! As far as moving to Intel it really depends on if your current rig can do what you want or not. If you are not having performance issues then I see no point in spending the money on an Intel rig.

I had thought the same thing at one time but the truth is I can play every game I have on max settings with no slow down at all. At the same time my friends Intel rig has problems with a lot of games with micro stutter that I do not have. He has a i5 2500k 8gig ram with a Nvidia 560 and games like Skyrim Rage and some other have horrible stutter so from my point of view Intel is not an option as I want my games to play great which they do on my FX-8120!
