[SOLVED] Switched to Ryzen 5 5600G, Now won’t boot.

So I am switching from the 3200G to the 5600G. With the 3200 installed, I updated the BIOS to the 3.8 version. My mobo is the AsRock X570 Steel Legend. I took out the old CPU and put in the new one and it won’t boot. It boots for about 30 seconds, everything runs but no image then restarts and it does this over and over. I put the old cpu back in and it boots up fine. Not sure what I am missing here

EDIT: Forgot to mention, also cleared CMOS, and reseating RAM

hi, for updating bios, you have to use matise cpu, renoir or vermeer cpu, thats ryzen 3000 non G, 4000 or 5000

That a good find but what a bizarre afterthought by asrock.

They could easily create a single use bios flasher for this purpose, it seems pure laziness on their part.
