Switching from igpu to gpu.

I recently built my computer and used the i5 6600 as my gpu. I got the gtx 1060 and I want to know if I need to uninstall anything before plugging in the gtx 1060 and how do I make my computer use the gpu and not the igpu.

You don't need to uninstall anything. You may want to download drivers from Nvidia before plugging your GPU in, but it really doesn't matter.
Power down your system. Plug in the new GPU and make sure that you securely connect any power cables to it. Unplug your monitor from your motherboard and plug it into the new GPU. Power up your computer and install the new drivers.
That's all you need.

I'd uninstall your Intel Graphics Driver just so it doesn't interfere with anything.. Other than that, download NVIDIA drivers, plug the card in, and make sure you plug your HDMI into the GPU not the motherboard!

That used to be helpful, but it really isn't anymore. The drivers work just fine together unless there is a serious hardware error or misconfiguration. In fact, those intel drivers are actually useful/necessary if you want to take advantage of the video encoding/decoding acceleration present in the CPU.
