Solution
In what way is your current setup not doing the job?

If it is gaming performance,
Some games are graphics limited like fast action shooters.
Others are cpu core speed limited like strategy, sims, and mmo.
Multiplayer tends to like many threads.

You need to find out which.
------------------------------------------------------------
To help clarify your CPU/GPU options, run these two tests:

Run YOUR games, but lower your resolution and eye candy.
This makes the graphics card loaf a bit.
If your FPS increases, it indicates that your cpu is strong enough to drive a better graphics configuration.
If your FPS stays the same, you are likely more cpu limited.

If you need a better graphics card, your psu may be a limiter.

Here is a handy chart:
http://www.realhardtechx.com/index_archivos/Page362.htm

Any gpu upgrade should be a significant one, or you may be disappointed if you do not see magical results.

Use Tom's gpu Hierarchy table to find where your 1060 fits and what would be a good upgrade.
https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gpu-hierarchy,4388.html

With current prices, good luck in finding a decent card at a reasonable price.

If you need a cpu upgrade, look for intel 12th gen. Their single thread performance is superior, and that is what games need most.
One way to evaluate a processor is to look up the passmark performance ratings.
For example, your 2600x has 12 threads and a rating of 14066. That is when all 12 threads are running full out.
You see that on benchmarks and perhaps some batch aps, but not while gaming. Games rarely effectively use more than 4-6 threads. Of more importance is the single thread performance rating which is 2408.
Run the CPU-Z bench and look at the single thread rating.
You should see a number like 478:
https://valid.x86.fr/bench/p2d7tu/1

Intel 12th gen starts with the i3-12100 which scores 657.

MATX B660 DDR4 motherboards are reasonable, and you can reuse your 2300 speed ram.
Intel performance, unlike ryzen is not tightly linked to ram speed.

If you are looking for a new monitor, Try a wide screen unit which will be more immersive. Such units will be running higher than 1080P resolution.
