Ok, I am planning to build a new rig. What I plan to build only requires several new parts, as I have the parts from the last PC I had, aka I already have ram, chassis, and hard drive and sata cables. So what I'm getting now is a 1000 WATT psu (not really worried about that performing well, a new and motherboard (AM3+, again not worried) and the next two parts are what's important. I have 8 GB DDR3 ram, and am adding an AMD FX-8350 black series edition or whatever, and a gigabyte r9 270x GDDR5, 2gb. What kind of settings will I be able to run on say, Batman arkham knight, or black ops 3? That's my question pretty much.

The Intel 6th generation CPUs are being released in September. They will have similar pricing to the current generation CPUs ($230 for i5-6600k and $350 for i7-6700k) and will support DDR4 memory. The best graphics card to get now would be the GTX 980. The R9-295X2 performs better, but is basically two R9-290Xs on one GPU and costs about $100 more. The TITAN X is a lot faster than a GTX 980, but is expensive as hell.

I decided 1000 just In case I make any "extreme upgrades" later when I have more money, but you suggest an i5? Is that faster than the FX one? I mean the fx one had 8 cores with like idk 3 or 4 something GHz, but this is my first time hearing them ending their lifespan. Are they really?

Ok so 1. How much is an Intel skylake build 2. What would be the best graphics card if I didn't want to wait
3.what even is the Intel skylake build?
