It's quite interesting that not a *single* one of Tom's Hardware "gaming" builds have "Windows 7" included in the cost. And what exactly are you gonna use for that "gaming" build of yours? XP?

ROFL!!! XD

I'm sorry, did you say the case was "elegant"? Hardly the right word to describe that industrial looking behemoth, designed by transformer-bots to appeal to young human males. It brings to mind a futuristic fortress or an ammo case.

The case simply sucks... enough said!

I'd rather choose a Thermaltake V3 for the build. I'm currently using it. Although not perfect, it's perfect for the price!

Hey guys,
I know it's a different concept, but it would be interesting for me to hear an opinion about this configuration:

1. MB Motherboard GA-Z68XP-UD3 149.99
2. RAM Memory G.Skill 8GB ( 2x4 ) 74.99
3. DVD/RW Optical Drive Lite-On 24x 19.99
4. CPU CPU Intel Core i5-2500K 219.99
5. COOLER CPU cooler Cooler Master Hyper TX3 25.99
6. HDD Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB 89.99
7. PSU Antec HCG-620 620W 79.99
8. CASE RAIDMAX Altas ATX-295WB Black 39.99
9. GPU GeForce GTX 560 Ti 249.99
------------------------------------------------------
$950

Thanks,
Svet

I know right now ram prices are falling like stones and hard drives are getting rare and expensive .. so I can totally understand the ram on this $1000 build. but I just thought to point out that right now, for easily $10 less, you could get an 8gb kit at 1600Mhz when building this rig. For $20 more, you could even get a 16GB kit

It's not MHz, it's latency.

And more RAM does not = more performance, anything over 4 GB is wasted.
