Hi,
I was working on building a PC this weekend and can't seem to isolate my issue.
I have installed a Core 2 Quad Q9400 w/the stock fan in a EliteGroup P45T-A motherboard.
I'm using an Enermax EG701AX 600W power supply and a MSI R4850 video card. I am using a Thermaltake case I had from a few years ago. I have 2 sticks of 2GB Kingston DDR2 800mhz, which is compatible w/the MB.
-I connected all the power cords (6 pin to the video card, ATX & 24pin to the motherboard, SATA to hard drive and DVD drive) along with the case cords to the motherboard (power, reset, hard disk).
- I put in the video card, memory, hard dive, card reader drive in and connected the cables
- I couldn't install the power/sleep/message LED because the Enermax clip has 3 holes while the MB has 2 pins (the hole in the middle of the in the clip doesn't have a wire, so it is only 2 wires, but 1 is able to make a connection.)
-I connected the case fans to various power sources, including to the "system fan" 3 pin on the MB.
When I connect the power cord and monitor, all I've heard so far is a little crackle each time, but nothing powers on.
Any idea what I'm doing wrong? I don't think I short circuited my MB because I've been grounded the hole time.
Thanks for your time and help
Charley
