System Fan Header Issue

When I plug my case fan into the system fan header on the mobo, it won't boot up. The light on gpu and cpu fan will turn on for just a sec and spin then nothing after. But if I unplug my fan from the header then everything works. Is this a motherboard issue or what? Cause I have my fans running now, just always 100% running cause I can't control them since they're not connected to mobo. Any help is appreciated.

ok. it light up. boot up the system. go to bios set the sysmte fan to be on all the time, not just depend on the temps and see if it start up.

Even if i do this, i can only connect 1 fan because the extended cable isn't working.

Yes that fine. just one step at a time.

Went into BiOS and set system fan speed to full speed, booted up system and won't sping

Then I would said it the fan, you said you have 3, can you try the other 2?

Yeah but i just bought these fans last week, surely their not going out yet

When we try to figure an issue. we need to do it one thing at a time to rule out false positive. As of now, I still think you connected it wrong.
So by trying the other 2, and if they both fail, we can either assume the motherboard or still you connected it wrong.

okay so in the manual it says that 3 pins = sense. Does that even mean the fans will spin? I have tried both of the other fans and same result.

yes it should spin. the speed control would be on the 4pin. actually now that I think about it, it should go full speed when you plug it in with a 3 pin fan.

Exactly, that's what I was thinking. So what's the problem? THis is how i had it connected, 1st pin nothing then the right 3 pins full with fan = light up, no spinning. I tried this, 3 pins from left full and last, 4th pin empty and nothing happens.

no light when computer is on? and we are talking about the system fan which is the other end from the cpu?

Yes, when 4th pin is empty upside down and right side up, the fan doesn't light up or spin. ANd yes the system fan header on the other side of the mobo

post a camera shot of how you connecting it. or take it to a shop, maybe they can figure something out.
