System Fan/Northbridge Fan?

I was reading the manual to my motherboard online (I haven't taken it out of the box yet), and it mentions a connection for a system fan, and a northbridge fan. I'm not positive on this, but I don't think my motherboard has a northbridge fan integrated, and I'm not even sure what a system fan is. Can anyone elaborate on these?

The "System" fan would normally be a case fan. The mobo may or may not actually control it, but likely is able to report its speed.
If it doesn't have an actual Northbridge fan, then I would think that nothing would be plugged into the Northbridge fan header; I had a mobo that DID have a Northbridge fan, but when it locked up and I replaced it with a fanless one, I no longer used that connector. You may need to disable a warning message in the BIOS, but there should be no other ill effects.
