Specs:
CPU : ryzen 7500f
Motherboard : MSI PRO B650M-B
GPU : Nvidia GTX 1650 Super (palit)
RAM : Kingston Fury DDR5 4800 MHZ 16 gb x2 (bought sticks separately)
Storage : Kingston SA400 480 gb, Kingston NV1 2 tb

Problem is as described, eventwr reports that system is low on virtual memory. That cannot be the case, it is at 32gb right now. And still, applications crash sometimes, notably, while working in Photoshop or Vegas.

Things i've tried:
setting virtual memory to 0, system recommended, 16gb, 32gb, 64gb - did not work
swapping the place where virtual memory is located (from one ssd to another) -did nothing
memtest64 - no issues in about 10 hours
memtest86 - same as previous
updating bios
setting xmp profile from 5200 Mhz to 4800 (which is maximum non OC speed)

Problem is as described, eventwr reports that system is low on virtual memory.

Did you have pagefile disabled?
If you didn't have it disabled, then eventviewer is probably reporting, it has increased pagefile by small increments.

Set pagefile to 1GB initial, 16GB max.
Do not leave it on system managed. It will grow to ridiculous sizes. May even eat up all free space on your SSD.

Can you show a screenshot from Task Manager - Performance/Memory section, when crash happens?
and screenshot from your virtual memory settings.

When i made this post, system had 32gb pagefile, and yet event viewer was still reporting low memory status.

Set pagefile to 1GB initial, 16GB max.

Since setting it to system managed did not fix the issue, i was running custom sizes, so that was not a problem. I will try setting it to 1gb now

I will try, but that might be troublesome.

I found this piece in a 5-year old post and it might still apply to Windows 11:
https://www.reddit.com/r/techsuppor...dows_10_resource_exhaustion_detector_warning/

"Common misconception, at least with regards how to Windows defines virtual memory. Virtual memory in this case is commit memory. Commit memory is a combination of both Physical RAM and the Page File. You can view commit memory consumption in Task Manager under the Performance Tab and then the Memory section. You can also view commit memory usage per process in the Details tab by adding the column for commit memory."

lf the virtual memory error message applies to a combination of real memory (RAM) and pagefile.sys, it makes tracking down errors more "interesting". I've got Photoshop open and a small photo loaded. Commit is shown as 2,583,984KB for photoshop.exe. It would probably be larger with a few RAW files and some plugins running.

And still, applications crash sometimes, notably, while working in Photoshop or Vegas.
Do you have separate swap files set up for Adobe Photoshop and Vegas Pro?

I keep my Adobe and Topaz swap files on a separate M.2 NVMe drive, so they're not on the same physical disk as Windows pagefile.sys and swapfile.sys.

My photo/video 'work-in-progress' files live on a third M.2 drive. Splitting things up doesn't improve photo work much, but video processing is slightly faster.

I see you tried moving your Windows swap files to a different SSD. I leave my Windows pagefile.sys and swapfile.sys on the main C: drive. I think you're supposed to leave a very small swapfile (pagefile?) on drive C:, after moving the bulk of these file(s) to another drive. Something to do with crash log reporting?

With 32GB, you should have enough system RAM unless you're working on higher resolutions:

The type of project you’re working on also affects the amount of RAM required. Here are some general guidelines for different types of projects:
  • SD (Standard Definition) projects: 8-16 GB of RAM
  • HD (High Definition) projects: 16-32 GB of RAM
  • 4K projects: 32-64 GB of RAM
  • Color grading and color correction projects: 32-128 GB of RAM
  • Multicam editing projects: 32-128 GB of RAM

Never mind, thought it will take time to crash. Here's the screenshots - didn't restart the system after changing pagefile size to 1gb.
And here's the event viewer log:

malware scan the system?
what the ram usage?
check resource monitor on ram. could be the ram that you bought separately and not working right
i have an AV, did full scan recently, found nothing
don't know the actual usage, but on the screenshot above you can see that at the time of crash it was closing to 100%
also idk what to search for in resmon, it shows 32gig and 0 hard faults, if you're talking about that

No, i had no idea that those programs have separate swap files and have no clue how to set them up. If you, however, mean memory allocation in preferences, Photoshop is at 17gb and Vegas has 8gb of dynamic ram preview.
...
I do render in 4k, but most of my footage is 1080p while my project stands on 720p resolution until it is time to render (that's when i change that to 4k). That way vegas doesn't lag so hard while editing.

Your workload requires 54.9GB of ram.
You have only 32GB physical ram.

Install more ram. Get 2x32GB kit.

For time being (until you have upgraded ram), 1GB pagefile will not cut it.

Set it to 4GB initial 32GB max.

BTW - Event Viewer says, you have two instances of vegas open.
Do you really need both them at the same time?
Vegas eats up a lot of ram.
Also - you should probably close photoshop, while working in vegas.
