Question System keep on lagging

My system (Asus TUF Series) is close to 4 years old, recently I noticed the CPU is used up to 100% and this happens quite frequently. Most of the time it is Windows Explorer but at times other applications also use the CPU to a great extent. I tried deep clean anti-virus but that didn't help much, what could be the reason?

Update your post to include full system hardware specs and OS information.

Include disk drive(s): make, model, capacity, how full?

Use Task Manager and Resource Monitor to observe what is using system resources (e.g., CPU).

Process Explorer (Microsoft, free) can also help.
