System not saving Date/Time

Hello,

I have been having a weird issue lately, when i shutdown and restart my PC after a delay of maybe 1 or 2 hours. I noticed i am getting CMOS bad checksum error, also Time not set error. After showing me these errors it goes to boot.

Everything seems to be working fine except my TIME isn't be set it goes back to default which is some years ago.
I am having to manually sync the time - every time.

This has been going on for about a month, but finally a week ago i was able to get a new battery and replace it.
I have reset the BIOs config to with Optimized Defaults, yet this is still happening.

I'm worried what could be the cause, i specially don't want it to be a big issue specially not with the motherboard.

Can anyone please help me with this issue?

P.S:- I also checked the 3v voltage in the BIOs it has a Hardware Monitoring page where it shows the voltage. I its around 3xx something.

But i have already replaced the battery with a new one a week ago, after i replaced it i think it was working smoothly without showing me any sort of error. But it started happening again after a few days without me doing anything.

Is it possible that the new battery i got is also BAD? i am checking its voltage in the Hardware Monitoring page which seems to appear normal around 3 or something like that.

Causes of CMOS Checksum Bad Error Any of this happened to you?

There are usually three main reasons that a CMOS Checksum Bad Error occurs. They include:

>CMOS Battery may not be functioning properly. The battery life may have expired.

>The user or a virus may have updated the BIOS.

>The computer may not have been shut down properly e.g. shutting off the computer’s main power without first shutting down the computer (MS Windows requires the computer to be shut down before the power is shut off).

Can u reset the BIOS?
Reset the CMOS memory the right way as is described in the motherboard manual using the clear CMOS link with the power cord unplugged.

Thank you nikorr, i will try what you advised.

The video is specially i didn't know how to reset CMOS, but i still tried it and luckily i did it right except one thing i took out the JUMPER but didn't switch its position for 5 seconds as said in the video and i also couldn't find the RESET Button. But its looking alright now. If the error pops up again i will try exactly how it is mentioned in the above video.

OH, and yes the New battery is CR 2032.

OK and the New battery is brand new, right?

It was not swapped from somewhere else.

Did u pull the power cord on the PC or push the reset button while it was still ON?

OK, one more thing.

Did u set and saved the time in the BIOS after the battery exchange?

Thanks for your help, sorry i lost track of this thread as the problem never arised back.
I didn't set the Time in the BIOS, i first set the time by logging onto my WIN7, then shut down my pc and pulled out the power plug. Replaced the battery and did what i said i did above, like taking out the JUMPER but didn't wait 5 seconds and also couldn't find that RESET switch. Thats far as i remember and it did the trick well for me. I haven't encountered the error again.

The battery was indeed new, it was seal packed.
