Kingston 2x 512 dimm pc4000- Ballistix 2X512dimm pc4000

My question is will I need 2 have at least a 2gb of Ram to my upgrade or will I B fine w/ just 1gb of ram?

Any suggestions will be thankfull

Thus far I haven't really seen a critical benefit to having 2Gig above 1Gig. Alot of people might differ, but looking at your system I'd say that 1Gig will be enough for now.

2Gig might come in handy when you are using a massive CPU and Gcard that requires alot more data exchange with regards to textures and geometry, but the 9800Pro and 3000+ will compliment each other to such an extent that 2 gig will be wasted games wise bar maybe loading times.

As previously stated, for most programs, 1GB will be sufficient. However, some games (noteably BF2) do benefit from having 2GB. I'm sure there are other memory-intensive applications/games that may also benefit.

If you were to detail what you use the pc for, then we could maybe better answer your question.

On a sidenote, why are you replacing 2x512 PC4000 with another set of 2x512 PC4000 ? Is this just for improved quality/timings ? I'm guessing you intend to OC this system with that RAM.
