Hello, I have some questions in regards to System Restore:

1. Does System Restore effect the settings for Folder Auditing? which can be found under properties -> security tab -> Auditing.

2. Also, is this setting saved in the registry which means that System Restore would undo that change for that particular setting? Like how most settings are saved in the registry and can be undone by performing a System Restore.

Your help is greatly appreciated, Thank you in advance!

Hello

The Auditing tab in any folder's Properties box allows you to view the permissions and security settings of the folder.

If you restore the drive (to its earlier restore point) the target folder exists in, any changes you've made to the security settings of the folder after the restore point was created will be reverted back to their previous state.

To answer your second question, consider a restore point a snapshot of the state of the system (or drive), that is brought back to action as you restore Windows 10 to it.

You can find more details about system restore here.

Please Note: System Restore and System Reset are two different options in Windows 10.

Hope this helps.

Cheers!!
