So, I've decided that it's the right time to upgrade my 4 year old computer.
My current specs are:
CPU: Intel Pentium 4 3.00 ghz
GPU: geforce 8500gt
I was thinking of buying a totally new system unit. My budget is about $400-$500
I did a bit of research and I was thinking of getting the following parts:
1. Inter core i3 2100 (sandybridge)
2. Asus z68 motherboard (can i get any cheaper ones that will still enable me to upgrade to i5/i7 or IVY bridge later)
3. 500 gb 7200rpm harddrive
4. Geforce 550 ti / Radeon 5770 / Radeon 6850 (depending on budget)
5. Corsair 4 GB DDR3 ram
6. 600 watt PSU
7. any case i like
Do you guys think this is a good budget pc for gaming. I play FPSs, FIFA and other action games. I'll be playing RAGE, FIFA 12, Batman Arkham City, and all the new games coming out soon in high detail. I'll probably be using this PC for 2-3 years.
So let me ask:
1. What is the cheapest good mobo i can get?
2. Should i spend extra on the the CPU (maybe getting an i5) since this PC will only be for about 2-3 years?
3. What about my listed GPUs?
4. RAM, what do i look for in a good RAM?
5. Will any 7200rpm Hard drive do?
Please try to keep your answers within my budget.
