Hello,

I have just finished assembling my system and have run into some trouble.

Firstly, my monitor receives no signal. I have tried both another monitor
and another video card so I am reasonably sure its not the video card.

On startup, I don't hear a beep or see the lights flash on my keyboard.

In order for there to be "no signal" to my monitor I can't think of anything else
that could be wrong except for a bad motherboard or a bad processor...
I can't even get to the BIOS to configure that.

I am trying to assemble KR7A-133 Abit motherboard with kt266a chipset, AMD 1800 XP,
ATI 7500 64MB DDR video card.

Any advice on how to find out what is broken??

thanks,
Tilman

Check to see if the "Clear CMOS" jumper is in the correct postion. Make sure there are no shorts under the M/B by one of the stand-offs. Re-check all your connections on the M/B. Check all cable for bent pins.

I have checked everything and found that my speaker was incorrectly connected. Now when I try to boot, the computer beeps at regular intervals. But still won't boot and the monitor
still receives no signal.

Any idea what that means?

Take a look here and see if you can identify the BIOS code that you are hearing ->Award BIOS Beep Codes make sure you double check your cable connectors for bent pins.
