I knew I had to update the BIOS on this board (GIGABYTE B650M Elite AX) before using it with my 9800x3d so I followed the steps to use Q-flash before any hardware was connected to my board. Everything seemed to work and complete fine. Now with CPU, RAM, fans, cooler installed the system does not turn on.
When I flick the switch on the PSU the purple lights on the bottom right corner of the motherboard show or a split second but turn off. During this I never see any of the diagnostic lights come on. My keyboard and mouse are still getting power even after the purple motherboard lights went away after a split second. However nothing else happens, fans don't move and the monitor does not detect anything. After this I tried using the RST button on the motherboard and I tried clearing the CMOS with the jumper. Still the same result. So I tried to do Q flash again, this time with everything connected, this time with F30 instead of F33a.
Once I pressed and held the Q-flash button for a couple seconds the system showed some life with the fans and pump starting to run, again system seemed to complete the Q-flash BIOS update fully. After confirming it was done and waiting about 30 seconds I turned off the system, removed the USB, turn on and same issue as before. One thing I did notice as I was running Q-flash the second time was that the CPU light was on even though my CPU was in the socket. I know I definitely had put the CPU in the right orientation and it was seated properly.
I am not sure where to go from here. During this I have never connected a GPU or SSD.
