Sytrin VF1-Plus Question - PCI slot fan needed?

I have my vid card all set up with the new cooler (1800xt), and am still a couple of days from powering on. I had read some articles that said the Sytrin VF1-Plus blew the hot air towards the motherboard rather than out of the case. The idea was to let the case fans take the hot air out, which makes sense...but not with the side that the VF1 sits on.

I'm using a Lian-Li PC7B and a Foxconn C51XEM2AA- 8EKRS2H board. I also plan on using one of the two PCI slots for Soundblaster X-FI.

Anyone who has used this cooler, is the PCI fan needed to keep other peripherals from taking on too much heat? or is the VF1-Plus' system for removing the air enough to keep my case cool.

I do have one and with medium fan setting idle at 48C and load max at 65C for X1800XT. Both about 10C drop compare to ATI stock cooler auto fan. Have a slot fan under the video card, that is, at the same side of heatsink. The slot fan sucks air out immediately. Can't remember clearly but when slot fan is turned off, video temp increase by about 5C. I didn't measure temperature on either side of video card. So I'm curious why you think it should "but not with the side that the VF1 sits on"? What's your logic?

I;m not saying they planned to not have it do that. I am saying that the fan blows the air in the opposite direction from where my case fan is. The case fan is on the left of the card, while the card cooler is on the right. The cooler has been said to just redirect the hot air, and the redirection is opposite to that of the case fan.

Which is why I am asking if it is necessary to get a PCI slot fan to get that hot air out of the case...thanks for your input
