Tabbing in Notepad

Is there any way to change the amount of space utilized when the tab key is
pressed? I would like to have the tab key tab only half the distance that it
currently tabs.

Not in Notepad but you can in WordPad.
Under Format click Tabs to change it.

Hi John

To get around this and many other limitations in Notepad, I'd recommend
a good Notepad replacement such as

Win32Pad
http://www.gena01.com/win32pad/

or

metapad
http://www.liquidninja.com/metapad/

They're both great little editors that retain the Notepad feel, but
include many additional settings and features including customisable tab
size.

look at other replacements. I like Notepad+
