Tablet Choice - Asus or Samsung

Hello all,

I am looking for a replacement for my first generation Ipad mini 16gb. I put an order in with best buy for a Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 8.0.

With that said, I am now having second thoughts about this Asus tablet. The ZenPad S 8.0.

What are the thoughts on either?

For $100 less, I would seriously consider the ZenPad.

Walk in-store and give them a try, see if the Tab S2 feels like it is really worth $100 more than the Z580C.

As for "our thoughts", your tablet choice should be based on your own preferences, not ours. If all you want is a mainstream tablet to do mainstream stuff, the Z580C should be more than fine. If you are a heavier multi-tasker/gamer, then the S2 with 3GB RAM might be a better choice.

At $300, you may also want to consider the Z580CA which has 64GB of eMMC, 4GB RAM, a faster CPU (than the z580) and better cameras.

I should mention I got the Galaxy tab for $250. Makes it a little bit closer. While I am not going to necessarily game on the tablet, I do multitask and watch videos and such on them. My ipad mini can't keep up and frequently locks up. The only concerns I had with the Asus was its battery life and potentially the screen?
